Welcome to the "Still Surprised" Holy Spirit Summer Book Club!
In Why I Am Still Surprised by the Power of the Spirit, Jack Deere demonstrates that the Scriptures teach God is healing and speaking today just as he did 2000 years ago. He tells documented stories of modern miracles. He explains the nature of spiritual gifts, defines each spiritual gift, offers sound advice on discovering and using the gifts in church today. He shows how all of this part of God’s way of deepening our friendship with him.

How It Works
- Each week the group will read two chapters and you can join the conversation in the private Facebook group, in a discipleship band, or in person locally.
- Every month we will publish exclusive and/or early-bird video content below, including Seven Minute Seminary videos, conference talks and training from New Room Conference 2019, plus a livestream interview with Jack Deere toward the end of the study. BRETT HEINTZMAN
Brett Heintzman, an ordained Elder in the Free Methodist Church – USA, currently serves as the denomination’s Director of Communications and Publisher of LIGHT + LIFE Magazine. Brett and his wife Barb, who live in Indianapolis, also lead the National Prayer Ministry of the Free Methodist Church and have directed one of their National Prayer Summits. Passion for awakening in the church is the central yearning of Brett’s heart.

JACK DEERE
Jack Deere, formerly an associate professor of Old Testament at Dallas Theological Seminary, is a writer and lecturer who speaks throughout the world on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He is the author of the bestselling book, Surprised by the Power of the Spirit. He was a speaker at New Room Conference in 2019.
