After spending 18 years as a pastor in highly secularized Seattle, Verlon Fosner began to realize that the church had a sociological problem. While outreach efforts to find new wine were genuine, the church’s old wineskin was brittle and leaking. In other words, the traditional ways of doing church were not capable of housing a new wine that would be necessary to compel a secular culture to Jesus.[/mk_fancy_title][mk_fancy_title strip_tags=”true” tag_name=”h4″ size=”18″ font_family=”none” animation=”right-to-left”]Somewhere in this struggle, Fosner and his leadership team began to consider the way church as done during the first three centuries, and the sociological implications of doing church around dinner tables. Inviting someone to a dinner with Jesus is a very different thing that inviting them to a worship/teaching event on a Sunday morning at a religious campus.[/mk_fancy_title][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row fullwidth=”true” attached=”true”][vc_column][mk_button dimension=”flat” size=”xx-large” icon=”mk-icon-shopping-cart” url=”https://store.seedbed.com/products/dinner-church-building-bridges-by-breaking-bread” nofollow=”true” fullwidth=”true” margin_bottom=”0″ bg_color=”#97170c” btn_hover_bg=”#eaeaea” btn_hover_txt_color=”#97170c”]BUY NOW[/mk_button][/vc_column][/vc_row][mk_page_section bg_color=”#877255″ bg_position=”center bottom” bg_repeat=”no-repeat” video_loop=”false” video_opacity=”0.4″ padding_bottom=”0″ sidebar=”sidebar-1″][vc_column width=”1/2″][mk_fancy_title color=”#ffffff” size=”22″ force_font_size=”true” font_weight=”300″ margin_top=”35″ margin_bottom=”0″ font_family=”none”]ABOUT THE AUTHOR[/mk_fancy_title][mk_fancy_title color=”#ffffff” size=”34″ force_font_size=”true” font_weight=”500″ margin_bottom=”5″ font_family=”none”]Verlon Fosner[/mk_fancy_title][mk_divider style=”thin_solid” divider_width=”one_fourth” align=”left” thin_single_color=”#96160b” thickness=”3″ margin_top=”0″ margin_bottom=”30″][mk_fancy_title color=”#ffffff” size=”18″ force_font_size=”true” font_weight=”300″ font_family=”none”]Winfield Bevins has a passion for equipping others to spread the gospel in their own context.
